Course Overview
In surveys conducted by Baylor College of Medicine among
pediatricians attending symposia sponsored by Baylor, respondents
have expressed a need to be kept updated on innovations, discoveries,
and changes in the approach to diagnosis, care, and management
of pediatric patients. The 2000-2001 educational objectives
of the American Academy of Pediatrics specifically list topic
areas in which pediatricians should have current knowledge.
The presentation in this activity addresses the evaluation
of the child with the first seizure.
This presentation was developed from the proceedings of the
24th Annual Pediatric Postgraduate Symposium, held on April
25-27, 2002, in Houston, Texas.
